CIME Sri Lanka was founded by Mr. Prabath Nalinda Thilakarathna, a visionary entrepreneur, educational leader, Founder of CIME, and Founder of the Best School Commerce Society established in collaboration with the Ministry of Education.
His vision was always centered on creating opportunities for young individuals to move beyond traditional career paths and become entrepreneurs, business leaders, and innovators capable of contributing to the future development of Sri Lanka.
Mr. Prabath Nalinda Thilakarathna expanded the Best School Commerce Society into a larger educational movement and requested the Ministry of Education to establish it as a national-level platform and competition, which is now successfully progressing islandwide and has also been appreciated by the Ministry of Education. His vision was to inspire school students across Sri Lanka to develop leadership, business knowledge, creativity, and entrepreneurial confidence from their early educational journey, creating future entrepreneurs and business leaders for the country.
Further strengthening his dedication towards education, he established the Nenapawura Foundation, a free educational platform created especially for teachers islandwide representing every stream, every subject, and every medium. The foundation was established with the purpose of creating a professional knowledge-sharing environment where teachers can share their subject knowledge, provide additional knowledge and educational guidance, exchange professional experiences, improve their teaching skills, and gain wider educational exposure. Through this initiative, teachers collectively contribute towards enhancing the quality of education provided to students throughout Sri Lanka.
Mr. Prabath Nalinda Thilakarathna has continuously dedicated himself to the educational sector through lectures, seminars, motivational programmes, and educational initiatives conducted for schools and universities across Sri Lanka. Having developed and supported educational institutes while gaining extensive experience in the education sector, he recognized the growing need for Sri Lanka to produce entrepreneurs, business leaders, and innovators alongside academic professionals. Through these experiences, he understood the importance of an education system that combines academic

knowledge with entrepreneurship, leadership, innovation, and practical business exposure. This vision ultimately led to the establishment of the Chartered Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship of Sri Lanka (CIME). Today, under his visionary leadership, CIME stands as more than an educational institute, it stands as a national movement focused on empowering future entrepreneurs, developing business leadership, promoting innovation, and creating confident, skilled, ethical, and globally competitive individuals capable of leading industries, generating employment opportunities, and driving the future economic growth of Sri Lanka. His mission continues to inspire thousands of young individuals to think beyond employment and become creators of success, opportunities, and national progress.
